1. Hope was powerful beyond estimation

Being a Tribrid gave her powers so much more than the other supernatural creatures. She was the only one of her kind which added the awe to her character. A descendent of an original witch, an original hybrid and the Crescent wolf line- she could cast powerful spells & hexes, heal with her blood and be thrice as stronger and faster. She has been invincible to so many destructive attacks. She was powerful since a baby as seen in The Originals.

2. Her resourcefulness despite being ‘different’

She had been to a supernatural school since seven and not had a normal childhood given her family’s crazy legacy. Hope had not interacted much with the human world for the dangers that might harm her. Also, she lost her parents very early. All alone in the world despite Alaric(mentor) and her schoolmates, she had learnt to take care of herself. She knew how to survive in the outside world and was intelligent enough to free her way out of insurmountable situations.

3. She was never afraid to be alone

What made Hope so cool was that she was strong enough to be a lone wolf. Not that she did not miss the good times her friends around her had. But she could go on her own. While everyone was busy with their drama, she was out keeping everyone safe. Hope was selfless, not expecting people around her to return her heroic acts with gratitude or acknowledgement. Most of the time she was out on a one-woman mission than at a party.

4. Her vulnerability stood out beautifully

Despite her powers and toughness, Hope was a soft girl from inside. She considered Alaric as close as a father. She opened up to the Saltzman twins so much during her journey and grew fondness for all her friends. She learnt how to open her heart to Landon. Her most vulnerable moments were when she cried in front of Alaric, in season 2 after realizing that her entire world had forgotten her existence after having done so much; when she crumbled down as her humanity started to come back in season 4.

5. Her emotional burden and epic legacy

From the moment she was in her mother’s womb till the time she became a teenager, Hope had been the miracle child. Ill-fated prophecy regarding her birth, family’s dangerous history, her inherited powers, the constant threat to her life and the burden of having to be the savior, all weighed on her. Believing herself to be a cosmic mistake, she was always trying to find her value in the world.

Hope carried the guilt of not having been able to save her father, because he sacrificed so much for her, till season 4. She felt worthless if she was not constantly trying to save everyone. She carried the burden constantly and closed herself off to intimacy. She did not spend her time as a child enjoying her own world. Her uncle Elijah was right long ago. Being the family’s savior wasn’t her burden to bear.

6. Her warmth and kindness despite her superiority

Despite being the most powerful and strongest, she behaves kindly with humans. Hope belongs to a great legacy- her origin is from the immortal and royal bloodlines. When we first started to watch her, we expected her to turn out to be like her father Klaus– intimidating and scary. But no. Hope stood out different. She never put down others to make herself feel better. She understood Lizzie’s temperament and her struggles. She helped Raphael get his version of happiness. She protected all her friends. She constantly put others needs before her own.

We can all agree she got a deserving closure in the finale!
